2025 Washington State Kaleidoscope Festival Brings Community Theater to Spokane

Spokane is set to become the theater hub of Washington State as the 2025 Kaleidoscope Festival takes center stage at Magnuson Theater at Gonzaga University from February 13–15, 2025. Hosted by Stage Left Theatre, this biennial festival showcases top community theater productions from across the state in a celebration of creativity, storytelling, and performance.
Organized by the Washington State Community Theatre Association (WSCTA), the festival brings together theater companies from all over Washington to present a dynamic lineup of plays. Whether you’re a theater enthusiast, an aspiring actor, or simply someone who loves compelling stories, this festival is a must-attend event.
What to Expect at Kaleidoscope 2025
This year’s festival features eight productions from community theaters across Washington State, presenting everything from classic dramas to contemporary musicals.
Featured Productions:
- Bright Comet Theatre – Lord of the Flies
- Theatre33 – Constellations
- Resonance Studio Theatre – The Case of the Crushed Petunias
- Richland Players – Fool for Love
- New Prospect Theatre – Sweeney Todd, Act 2
- T...NADA (Theatre...Not A Dying Art) – My Name is Rachel Corrie
- Tacoma Musical Playhouse – I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Act 2

Each performance is judged as part of a friendly competition, with winning productions advancing to the next level of the AACT (American Association of Community Theatre) Festival circuit.
Special Presentation: Pass Over
The festival finale will feature a special presentation of Antoine N'Wandu’s Pass Over, the winner of the 2023 Kaleidoscope Festival, the AACT Region IX Festival, and the National AACTFest.
This powerful production has earned international recognition and will be heading to MONDIAL DU THEATRE 2025 (Theatre WorldFest) in Monaco this August. The Spokane performance serves as a fundraiser to help the Pass Over troupe cover travel expenses, making it an exciting opportunity to see the award-winning play before it takes the global stage.
